- Department of Virology, Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope
The Department of Virology supports eight independent laboratories in areas of basic research, translational research and clinical trials. The department focuses on areas of adeno-associated virus vectors, lentivirus vectors, other vectors for gene transfer to hematopoietic cells, cytomegalovirus biology and vaccine development, pathogenesis of herpes simplex virus, and experimental therapies using gene transfer vectors. The Department is comprised of over fifty personnel, including professors, associate professors, support scientists, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, laboratory aides, and administrative support.
