Bonenet.net promotes bone research in general and the study of the mechanosensory system in bone in particular. It is one of three mechanisms that, together with the Bone Seminars and Bone Fluid Flow Workshops, are funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation to the New York Center for Biomedical Engineering specifically for this purpose.
