The Fire Effects Information System (FEIS) provides up-to-date information about fire effects on plants, animals, and plant communities. FEIS contains summaries of the scientific literature on about 900 plant species, 100 animal species, and 16 vegetation types in North America. Summaries emphasize fire and how it affects each species or community and also include extensive information on taxonomy, distribution, basic biology and ecology, and management issues. Summaries are thoroughly documented, and each contains a complete bibliography.
