Alongside practical research, high priority is given to transferring knowledge into agricultural practice through advisory work, training courses and expert reports as well as various modern methods of documentation (magazines, data sheets, reference books and Internet).

  • applied agricultural R&D

  • Northern R&D is a Division in the Galilee Technology Center (MIGAL) based in the Northern part of ISRAEL (Galilee) dealing with regional agriculture research and development. It covers regional applied research needs in 10 different desiplins. The R&D is carried out in ten research stations spread all over the area reflecting different climatic conditions ranging from an altitude of –200m Below Sea Level upto 1000m. The different climatic areas means various agricultural activity whose responsibilty is of different work group within the Northern R&D. Not only that the areas of activity of Northern R & D are characterized by extreme differences of topography and climate, it alsoi include a wide variety of different forms of settlement and bussiness models. The scientif agenda of Northern R&D reflects a “Bottom UP” approach whereby the farmers participat regularly in setting up objective for the overall activity.
